Marantz will offer the company’s two new AV amplifiers next month, the SR7001 (140Wx7) and the SR5001 (110Wx7). These AV amplifiers provide HDMI input/output ports (4 on the SR7001 and 2 on the 5001). Both AV amplifiers are also SACD and iPod compatible. No word on pricing yet.

Toshiba provides their two new low-end media recorders, the RD-E300 (HDD and DVD), and the RD-W300 (HDD, DVD, and VHS). Both recorders feature a 300GB hard disk, a digital TV tuner, and an HDMI output. These recorders also have Animation Download feature that creates a short “video trailer” of the videos located on the hard disk. Two remotes are also included. No word on pricing yet. Motorola launched the MS800 in Korea, which is their latest phone that also supports DMB. You are able to watch TV on the phone. Moreover, it also has an MP3 player with 1GB of memory, a MicroSD port, a 1.3MP camera, and support for GXG (3D games), and many more features. No word on pricing yet. Motorola and Verizon Wireless have launched the MOTOKRZR K1m, which is the CDMA version of the K1. The Motorola K1m features a 1.9 inch 65k color display screen, a 1.3MP digicam with 4x zoom, video capture and playback, music player with both V CAST Music and MP3 support, dedicated music keys on the outside, and optional expandable microSD memory. The handset is now available online on Verizon Wireless’ website for US$199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Moreover, the phone will be available in Verizon Wireless stores starting on October 5 for US$199.99 after a US$50 mail-in rebate and new two-year customer agreement.

Sony Ericsson Z558 cell phone is the company’s first non-Symbian phone that offers a touch screen and stylus interface. The handset is available in a sleek brushed metal and high gloss design. It comes with a bright 262k color touch screen, a 1.3MP digicam, and has 18MB of on-board memory. You can also upgrade the memory to 1GB. The touch screen interface makes it simple to input complex languages like Chinese characters. The Sony Ericsson Z558 will be available starting October 2006 in Expresso Black. There are two versions will be offered; the Z558c for mainland China and the Z558i for other markets. No news on pricing yet.

The Sony Ericsson W830s Walkman phone is available in a slider design and supports a Memory Stick PRO Duo to store all of your favorite songs. The phone comes with Walkman 2.0 music player, and TrackID that allows you to record a few seconds of a song and send it to Gracenote worldwide music database to identify it. The player is also skinnable, so you can download themes and personalize your music player. Other features include a 2.0 inch 262k color screen, 2MP digicam, Macromedia Flash Lite, Bluetooth, FM radio, Access NetFront web browser, and supports SMS/MMS/Email messaging. In addition, its music player plays MP3, AAC and eAAC+ formats. No word yet on pricing. However, the Sony Ericsson W830 will be made available in two versions: W830c for mainland China and W830i for other SE Asia markets.

The Sony Ericsson W958 phone is designed for the Chinese market. The handset is a GSM/GPRS phone with a 2.6 inch screen for easier navigation of your playlists and albums. It is powered by the UIQ3 and Symbian OS v9.1 and features some of the best features on a smartphone. The W958 features 4GB of flash memory which can store up to 4,000 songs, and has included Opera 8.0 (mobile version) on the W958 for an enhanced web browsing experience. The Z550a is another quad-band world phone from Sony Ericsson, which supports GPRS for accessing the internet. It is equipped with a 1.3MP digicam with 4x digital zoom. The Z550a also provides a 262k color display, a full HTML web browser, an integrated music player can handle MP3 and AAC files, and supports streaming audio/video. In addition, the Z550a features a USB 2.0 interface and Bluetooth. You can use the phone to send SMS/MMS/EMS and even Email (POP and IMAP4 are supported). The external screen is a monochrome STN. Pricing information is not yet available. The Sony Ericsson Z550a cell phone should hit the streets very soon. Sony Ericsson Z550a is a phone for business and pleasure.
