Review of Samsung SGH-Z560

Review of Samsung SGH-Z560

The slim Samsung SGH-Z560 features a 2.3-inch QVGA display, 2.0MP shooter, HSDPA support, dedicated music keys, Bluetooth connectivity, and media playback capabilities. RegHardware did a review on this phone and here’s the verdict:

The Samsung SGH-Z560 is a pioneer mobile phone, leading the way in the HSDPA handset market. The one thing about leading the way is that others – including web designers – have to catch up; the number of non-mobile-compliant sites make phone browsing a painful rather than rewarding experience. That said, having snappy internet access – albeit variable – is invaluable, as is being able to use the Z560 as a broadband modem on PCs. The Z560′s music and digital imaging functionality combine to make this a compelling mobile multimedia offering.

X-51 Hypersonic Cruise Missile Reach Mach 5

by Johan on December 20, 2006

X-51 Hypersonic Cruise Missile Reach Mach 5

The Pentagon is now developing the X-51 hypersonic cruise missile that travels 600 miles in 10 minutes. It gives the strike capability anywhere in the world in less than an hour. This hypersonic missile is designed to hit Mach 5 or 3600 Mph. FYI, the Tomahawk Cruise missiles have just 550 Mph of max speed.

Lt. Gen. C. Robert Kehler, the U.S. Strategic Command’s deputy commander, said that the goal of this project is “to strike virtually anywhere on the face of the Earth within 60 minutes.” Though there are many protests regarding the possibilities of a nuclear war because of this, The Pentagon still plans to test run the X-51 missiles by 2008.

Creative Wireless Headphones SE2300

The Wireless Headphones SE2300 from Creative are fitted with an audio transmitter that has a range of ten meters. It also supports Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), so you can synchronize these headphones to any USB Bluetooth dongle, Bluetooth-enabled PC, or PDA.

I think the SE2300 headphones are smart enough to manage its power consumption, since it automatically powers itself down when the Bluetooth link is dropped. The unit also warns you with a beeping sound when the battery is low. Its Li-Ion battery lasts for eight hours. The Creative Wireless Headphones SE2300 is now on sale in Singapore for $99.99.

Ruckus MediaFlex Router

Talking about unconventional design, check out this Ruckus MediaFlex Router. Not only it gives you the superior signal strength that doesn’t drop without warning (courtesy of 200-mW radios and BeamFlex technology), it also offers a hassle-free streaming video. Now, don’t get too excited yet, unfortunately the device lacks of a SPI firewall, a DMZ, and MAC access control. The Ruckus MediaFlex Router sells for $159.99 at Ruckus Wireless. I think it’s still worth the try, don’t you?

SplitFish has a new toy for PS2 owners! That will bring their First Person Shooter experience to the next level when used. Dubbed as the EdgeFX mouse, it comes with the Dual Shock controller’s four face buttons on its side, and with a secondary controller that houses the analog and D-pads. Too bad, it is compatible only with the PS2. The EdgeFX mouse should be available at retail stores this week and with the price tag of $70.

Zippo's Portable Ashtrays

Everybody knows (especially smokers) how legendary Zippo is. Now, the company has launched a portable ashtray in Japan that’s shaped like a mouse.

The idea to create portable ashtray comes after the legislation that prohibits smoking on the streets and the littering of cigarette butts was enforced. Made of durable die-cast metal, each Zippo Portable Ashtray retails for around $25 at Rakuten (Japan).
