
Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced the availability of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game will offer players various war zone experiences including “fast-roping from Blackhawk helicopters”, being a “sniper, under concealment, in a Ghillie suit miles behind enemy lines” and “engaging hostiles from an AC-130 gunship thousands of feet above the battlefield.” Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be released for the PC, Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this Fall.

Midway’s Mortal Kombat is one of the first games ever to have an M rating. The new version of this game is now available for the Nintendo Wii. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon takes gameplay in new directions. Players can create their own fighter to match along with more than sixty fighters from the MK Universe. They can also customize their own fatalities. The game retails for $49.95 in the US.

Softbank Japan comes back with the Toshiba 814T clamshell phone. Measuring only 12.9mm thick, the 814T features a 2.4 inch QVGA display supporting 260k colors, a 2MP camera, and a Micro SD card slot. However, it lacks of many features like GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The Toshiba 814T measures 50mm × 101mm × 12.9mm and weighs 97 grams. It will be available very soon in Japan. It offers connections for USB, line-out audio, and both composite and S-video, allowing users to synchronize and charge their Apple iPods, and attach the device to stereos and TVs. The adapter features a 4-in-1 cable for USB and AV connections. The SendStation PocketDock AV retails for $37.

FCC has approved the Sony Ericsson W660i Walkman Phone. This little 3G phone comes jam packed with a 512MB memory stick micro (M2), which is able to store as many as 470 songs (eAAC+ format). The phone’s memory is also expandable to 1GB. No word on the pricing yet, but it should hit the streets very soon.

Fastlink and Research In Motion have launched the BlackBerry Pearl smartphone in Jordan. Pearl provides the well-known access to BlackBerry wireless services including email, text messaging and corporate data applications. The mobile provider Fastlink will also be providing BlackBerry Internet Service for its customers. Users can enjoy a digital camera and media player onboard the new BlackBerry. For additional storage, the device also offers expandable memory. In the Middle East, the BlackBerry service is currently available in Jordan, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain.

Kohjinsha Korea rolled out its touchscreen edition of SA Plus series notebook. It has a 7 inch display, and comes with 512MB memory and a 100GB hard drive. Its battery lasts for 4.5 hours under power saving mode and charges to around 80% capacity in just an hour. The laptop is also preloaded with Saydic an electronic dictionary. Other features include Bluetooth, USB port and VGA out. The Kohjinsha notebook is now available in Korea for $965.

The Sony VRD-MC5 DVD burner connects directly to their AVCHD HD camcorders via USB. Once connected you can burn to DVD with just a single button press. The burner has a 2.5 inch LCD, Firewire, S-Video and memory stick slots covering SD/SDHC, XD, CF plus Sony’s own formats.
