Apple Updates iPod touch Software To v1.1.1

Apple today released Apple iPod touch software v1.1.1., that attempts to fix bugs. Additionally, the “Negative Blacks” screen issue may have been addressed with this update. iTunes 7.4.3 for Windows has also been released which specifically addresses issues with the initial setup of the iPod touch on some international versions of Windows. The update is available now via the update feature in iTunes.

Apple Releases iTunes 7.4.3 For Windows

Apple has recently released iTunes 7.4.3 for Windows. This new iTunes addresses issues concerning “the initial setup of the iPod touch on some international versions of Windows.” The download is available through Apple’s Software Update utility and from Apple’s website.

Motorola’s DynaTAC (Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage) 8000X was the world’s first commercially released mobile phone. Measuring 13 inch x 1.75 inch x 3.5 inch, this cell phone was released in 1983 with a price tag of $3,995. Motorola spent over $100-million and 15 years developing the technology. Available in three different color combinations including tan/gray, tan, and dark gray, the DynaTAC 8000X featured an LED display and up to 30-minutes of talk time when fully charged.

JVC KT-HDP1 Portable HD Radio

JVC released the KT-HDP1 portable HD radio that offers a high-resolution broadcast system and has a white LCD screen to display track info and other data. The gadget sports AM, FM and HD tuner. Additionally, the device also provides 5-Way navigation keys and comes equipped with 18 preset channels. Other features include 3.5mm mini plug Audio Output, wireless Remote control, HD Station Scan and Seek and 12V cigarette lighter adapter plug. JVC KT-HDP1 portable HD radio will cost $149.95. It requires optional Car Install Kit or Home Dock Kit.

Sanyo Xacti HD700 Pocket Camera

The Xacti HD700 pocket camera is able to record 720p video and 7MP still images to SD and SDHC cards. What makes this camera cool is that it can record AVC/H.264 MPEG-4 video, which greatly reduces file size while retaining quality. It also supports the Face Recognition feature that can track up to a dozen faces and adjust focus and exposure accordingly. Available in silver, red, and brown, the HD700 sports a 2.7-inch flip-out screen and uses a 38-190mm-equivalent, f/3.5-4.7 lens that only offers 5x zoom power. Sanyo’s Xacti HD700 will be available later next month for approx. $600.

Denon Smart Home A/V Systems

Denon released two new home A/V systems in the form of the Smart S-102 and Smart S-302. The first one features a DVD player with internal 1080p upscaling and HDMI output, a 2 x 35 watt amplifier for the speakers, and a 100 watt powered subwoofer. The Smart S-302 offers 2 x 50 watt amplifier and WiFi streaming capability. The Smart S-102 and Smart S-302 retail for $1,600 and $2,518 respectively.

Samsung SGH-i780 Confirmed

The Samsung SGH-i780 has been confirmed. Measuring 115.9mm x 61.3mm x 13.3mm, the phone offers HSDPA/WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity and comes with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, a QWERTY keyboard, full touchscreen capability, a 3.2MP camera, a 2.55 inch 65k color display at 320 x 320 resolution, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated GPS, and a microSD memory card slot. No word on pricing or availability so far.

Sony NW-A910 Series Video Walkman

The Sony NW-A910 is the company’s latest Video Walkman series. The player will be released next month in Japan. Sony claims that this gadget is the smallest and lightest device to watch and record digital TV on. Available in 16GB, 8GB and 4GB versions, the 16GB model is able to record up to 100 hours of digital terrestrial TV, programmable up to a month in advance on MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. Its battery gives you 36 hours of music playback time, or 6 hours of video playback. Other features include a noise-cancelling function, and a 2.4-inch liquid crystal screen (320 x 240 pixel).
