The Sony VPL-VW40 is the latest video projector that has a Bravia engine for visual quality along with the Sony SXRD technology (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) among other features like a 15.000:1 contrast, 2.5ms of response and 22dB and HDMI plugs. No word on pricing or availability yet.

Designed and manufactured by Sharp, the 921SH features an ASV 3.2” with a 480×854 LCD, It has a 3.2MP camera, micro SDHC support, totes HSDPA, bluetooth and a 1Seg TV tuner. Unlike the iPHONE, the 921SH doesn’t come with a fancy touch screen but rather a motion sensor placed at the bottom. The Full Face 2 is a Japan-only release, and will be available in either black, soft pink, champagne gold, white or ice blue.

The Samsung 820SC will be released very soon by Softbank. The 820SC offers you a 2.6-inch QVGA OLED screen, 1.96megapixel camera with auto-focus, up to 2GB microSD card, 3G connection, music player, infrared, and Bluetooth as well as a variety of colors such as black, silver, gold, and red. Look for this Samsung sometime in mid-February.

Hitachi is offering a personalized phone in Japan by the end of March. It will feature an e-display or “Silhouette screen” as well as a variety of 95 patterns. The Hitachi handset will support 250 minutes of call time and has a 2.8-inch WQVGA display, 2GB microSD, 1.97 megapixel camera and 1-Seg. No pricing available as of right now.

Mitsubishi has broke out two new models of home projectors. The XL1550U and XL2550U which are more for home entertainment than anything, come with lots of features. The XL1550U features an XGA (1,024 x 768) resolution, 3,100 ANSI lumens and a lamp life of up to 5,000 hours.While the XL2550U, has the same resolution but has up to 4,000 ANSI lumens, the new BrightEra LCD panels and a lamp good for 4,000 hours of use. Both will have side-loading lamps, built-in Ethernet ports for LAN asset management and an RS-232 port for third-party integration. Both of these will be available this month going for $3,995 and $4,495.

Japan is dropping some goodies for your iPod and here’s yet another one by TEAC. The SR-L250i is an all-in-one iPod system that is also an alarm, CD player, USB key, and of course iPod dock. The USB key allows you to store MP3 files so you can play those along with your iTunes. Hopefully Japan will bring this to the U.S, no word on pricing or availability so far.

Sony has announced that their Vaio Type A AV notebook will have some additional features added on. The 17-inch will still have a WUXGA screen and a BLu-Ray drive, but it now has a Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5GHz), 400GB en RAID 0, Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT and a Digital TV Tuner. Sounds like notebook fans everywhere will have a great option as far as Sony goes.
