Philips has released its new Flavors line of LCD TVs with the interchangeable frames that are available in 22 inch, 32 inch and 42 inch. The 42 inch variant offers Full HD resolution (1080p), 30,000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 500cd/m2 brightness and two HDMI ports. The 22 inch, 32 inch and 42 inch models are priced at €549, €799 and €1,199, respectively. Each purchase of these new Flavors line of LCD TVs also comes with two interchangeable frames. SimpleTech today introduced the Pro Drive and Duo Pro Drive external storage media that provide eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 connectivity. These external hard drives allows you to transfer data at speeds of up to 3Gbps via eSATA. Each purchase also comes with Fabrik’s backup software accompanied by 2GB of free online storage. The Duo Pro Drive will be available in 1.5TB and 2TB models, retailing for $420 and $550, respectively. Direct From Japan (DFJ) has partnered with Aigo to sell the Atom-based P8860 MID for only $699. DFJ is the first official reseller that sells this 4.8-inch slider UMPC. According to the rumors, Aigo has made an agreement with both Intel and Microsoft, which means Windows XP drivers will be made available. Carl Zeiss is a name often associated with digital camera lens. The German Optics Specialist has released the Cinemizer, which is a portable home cinema goggles that weights at only 0.25 pounds. Wearing this goggle, you will feel like you were watching a movie on a 39 inch display. The Cinemizer is powered by the cell phone it is connected to, while the built-in rechargeable battery is able to play movies continuously for up to 4 hours. The Carl Zeiss Cinemizer is compatible with the Nokia N96, N95 and the iPhone. The gadget features adjustable earphones and interchangeable nose pads. No word on pricing or availability at this time. After releasing the NB100 netbook, Toshiba will also launched the new Dynabook NX Series notebook. The laptop comes equipped with a 12.1 inch LED backlighted LCD screen with WXGA resolution (1280×800), a 1.20GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 CPU, supports up to 3GB2GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD or 160GB of SATA HDD, and DVD Super Multi Drive, Wi-Fi b/g/n, three USB ports, e-Sata port, and SD card slot. Pioneer has rolled out not one but four new GPS navigation gadgets this week. Known as the HRZ099, HRZ088, HRV022, and HRV011, these gadgets share the same specifications including 40GB storage capacity, 1Seg TV, 7-Inch LCD Screen and can play WMA, MP3, AAC, and DivX file formats. These navigation systems are also compatible with the iPods. The Pioneer HRZ099 is the High-End model that comes equipped with a resolution of 800 x 480. Meanwhile, the Pioneer HRZ099 and HRZ088 are also equipped with a built-in Amplifier that produces a maximum output of 50W x 4ch. [Akihabara]
Dell has rolled out their new LCD Monitor to the market. Known as the S2309W, the monitor features 16:9 aspect ratio, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a quick 5ms response time, and 300cd/m2 brightness. No info on pricing and availability at this time. Too bad, the Dell S2309W LCD Monitor does not have HDMI port and only provides DVI and VGA ports. [Electronista]
