Sony will release its VAIO VGN-P50 ultra-compact entry-level laptop in the Japanese market on June 6th, 2009. This Windows XP-powered laptop measures 245mm x 120mm x 19.8mm and weighing at 626grams. It has an 8-inch ultra wide LCD screen with a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, a 1GB RAM, a 80GB HDD, and Intel’s US15W chipset. Other features include a couple of USB 2.0 slots, IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, multi-card reader and four hours of battery life. The Sotec LA21TW-01S is Onkyo’s latest 21.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) LCD monitor. The HD LCD screen provides a HDMI and DVI-D port, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a brightness level of 300cd/m2, and an integrated 1.6Watts x 2ch speaker. Verbatim just rolled out a new keyboard with incorporated speakers and two new wireless mouse. The Verbatim TuneBoard keyboard comes with iTunes control keys, switchable backlighting and bass boost, in addition to providing headphone and microphone connections and a built-in microphone. The Verbatim Laser Mouse connects to a computer via Bluetooth, meanwhile the Verbatim Desktop Wireless Laser Mouse uses a non-standard 2.4GHz connection so it requires a USB dongle. The TuneBoard retails for $70 and the Bluetooth mouse is priced at $40 and the desktop mouse at $30. [Mobilewhack]

HDMI Licensing today announces the upcoming HDMI 1.4 specification. The new specification will add a data channel to the HDMI cable and will enable high-speed bi-directional communication. The devices will be able to send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet and will also add an Audio Return Channel that reduce the number of cables required to deliver audio upstream for processing and playback. The Aino is the first touchscreen slider from Sony Ericsson that stores a number pad and navigation keys right under its 3-inch display. It is also the first phone with Remote Play, so you can remotely control your PS3 and watch videos from it over Wi-Fi or anywhere through the internet. Other features include an impressive 8.1MP camera with flash and image stabilization, 3G connectivity and assisted GPS. The Sony Ericsson Aino will be released this Fall. Still remember the Symbian-powered Sony Ericsson Idou cell phone that was unveiled at Mobile World Congress earlier this year? This handset will be released to the market as the “Satio”. Available in black, silver, and bordeaux, the phone has a 3.5-inch (640 x 350) touchscreen display, a superb 12.1MP digital camera with a xenon flash, dual-band HSPA, and a microSD slot.
