
Telstra Australia has collaborated with network partner Ericsson, Qualcomm and Sierra Wireless to provide the world’s first HSPA+ network in Australia. The HSPA+ Dual Carrier technology allows Telstra to send and receive wireless data using two channels simultaneously providing peak network downlink speeds of 42Mbps. This technology will require new compatible devices that are expected to come to market in 2011. [Telstra]

The AirLive Air3G multi-function router is perfect for use in offices since it features a high-performance Single Stream 11N radio which is claimed to provide all-round wireless coverage of up to 500 meters. The router also supports AirLive Air3G Smart Backup that allows you to switch to a backup connection whenever the primary connection is broken and return to its primary connection whenever the service is resumed. RaidSonic has recently unveiled three new USB 3.0 hard drive enclosures for the mass market. Let’s start with the first one, the Icy Box IB-230StU3 (pictured above) features an aluminum enclosure, a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and can accommodate a single 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD. It will ship next month for 27 Euro (about $37). Followed by the Icy Box IB-330StU3 that can accommodate a single 3.5-inch HDD or SSD and features the same USB 3.0/2.0 interface, and silicone inserts for noise dampening. It will go on sale in April for 39 Euro (about $53). Finally, the Icy Box IB-RD4320StU3-B that features the same USB 3.0/2.0 interface and can accommodate two 3.5-inch SATA drives with RAID 0, 1, 0+1, and JBOD support. Huawei has debuted its E398 modem at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It is the world’s first triple-mode LTE modem compatible with all three major network standards such as LTE, UMTS, and GSM. The modem allows you to enjoy high speed LTE access while switching over to other standards (UMTS or GSM) when LTE access is unavailable. Fujifilm has managed to develop a 3D Print System for its 3D camera that will print on-location 3D photos in locations such as theme parks or tourist spots. Made up of a built-in PC and 3D printer, the system uses thermal sublimation to transfer images onto lenticular sheets for the 3D effect.
