Apple has quietly announced this week to start selling an aluminum 20-inch iMac configuration for schools. Each $899 iMac features a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 8x double-layer SuperDrive, and an nVidia GeForce 9400M graphics card. Buyers authorized to make purchases for their educational institution can pre-order the new aluminum iMacs today for delivery in about a month. The new config basically replaces the 17-inch iMacs sold at the same price to the same institutions since 2006. [Apple Insider]
