I’ve dropped my phone a few times and now the LCD is acting all funny. One minute it would show who’s calling me the next it would flash me Britney’s t*ts. Anyway it would be ideal if a phone is a little more flexible, like this bendy-dandy soft mobile phone concept.

The phone is encased in a flexible plastic housing. A soft polymer insert is located between the microchip module and the casing. You can drop it, bend it, sit on it, toss it around.

The phone has a flexible display which looks like paper, but the incorporated ink can change positions when affected by electric signals to form images on the display. The process, called “electrowetting” works at the speed of light you can even watch a video without a hitch, a technology developed by Robert Hayes and Johan Feenstra. Although the phone itself is a concept, the “electrowetting” technology is no fairy tale.
