Aluratek Libre eBook Reader PRO

Aluratek today announced the Libre eBook Reader PRO that boasts a superior battery life with up to 24 hours of continuous use, auto power off, auto page turn, multiple language formats, as well as MP3 and photo support. The gadget uses a 5-inch monochrome reflective light LCD display, which provides a crisp black and white screen with the same appearance and readability of printed paper. There is no backlighting, so reading on the Libre is as soft on the eyes as reading a book, while also preserving battery power. The Libre also provides a 2GB SD card and reads ePub, PDF, TXT, Mobi, PRC and RTF file formats. Available in black or white, the Libre eBook Reader PRO comes with an MSRP of $179. [Gizmodo]

If they do want to sell it, they have to put a hardware keyboard on it with a price like this.. Those giant buttons are unnecessary..

I just got this, and it’s amazing. Although, it’s not clear how to put music and how much internal space there is…unless I’ve missed it somewhere. Other than that, totally worth the money.

Mine has a blank screen? I fully charged it and it worked initially and the green indicator light is on. But cant get anything on the screen. I was so disappointed coz cant return on Box Day. Maybe I got a lemon?

Julie – same thing happened to me. Charged it and now I can’t get anything on my screen either. It was working great even though it acted slightly squirrely when I first got it (would lock up sometimes) but at least the screen was working. I used this for 2 months total and really enjoyed it. It’s really disappointing.
