Airborne Laser System Tracks and Destroys Missiles

Here is a video of Boeing’s high-tech YAL-1 Airborne Laser (ABL) weapons system that consists of a high energy laser, flight turret assembly, tracker Illuminator lasers, and a beacon illuminator. The weapon system uses infrared sensors to detect missiles, and then three low power tracking lasers calculate speed of the missile, and finally the main laser is fired for 3-5 seconds from a front-mounted turret to destroy the missile. Watch the video to get more details.
