Amazon Launches Kindle Software Update

The latest software version of Kindle 2 and Kindle DX is now available for download. The new update adds several improvements to these gadgets such as a built-in PDF reader, a manual screen rotation and a longer battery life. Amazon Kindle owner can download the software update automatically when the wireless connection is activated. During the update, you will see screens that show the update progress. The update should take less than 10 minutes and is complete when Kindle displays the Home screen. Do not power off or reset your Kindle until the update is complete. If you don’t have wireless connectivity, you can download the software manually here. [Amazon via DVICE]
