Some researchers from Osaka University’s Graduate School of Engineering have managed to develop the CB2 robot that was specifically programmed to act as a human child. This 1.3m long and 33kg robot comes equipped with 56 air cylinders that act as muscles, while cameras and microphones were fitted to the eyes and ears respectively. There are over 190 tactile sensors were embedded throughout the soft silicone skin, making the robot sensitive to its surroundings. The CB2 also has a set of artificial vocal chords that it uses to speak baby talk.
