ASUS is gearing up to release their newest dual-band WiFi router, the RT-AC88U. Utilizing the NitroQAM technology – Broadcom’s 1024-QAM modulation scheme, which gives up to a 25 percent throughput boost over 802.11ac’s 256-QAM, this ultra-fast 802.11ac home router is built with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, a 512MB RAM and a 128MB flash memory, and supports for dual-band WiFi access point (1024-QAM (2.4GHz) – up to 1000Mbps and 1024-QAM (5GHz) – up to 2167Mbps).
Equipped with four external antennas (4x transmit / 4x receive w/ MU-MIMO technology), the RT-AC88U comes with a WPS button, 1x Internet LAN port, 8x LAN ports, 1x USB 2.0 and 1x USB 3.0 ports to easily share printers, files and media within the network.
