Asus will release five new notebooks including A7S, F3SV, F3SC, A8SC, and W7S. They feature the new nVidia GeForce Go 8000 series video cards and Intel’s “Santa Rosa” notebook platform. Using the new nVidia GeForce Go 8000 series video cards, these laptops should provide DirectX 10 and high-definition video capabilities for next generation PC games and multimedia. FYI, the GeForce Go 8400/8600 VGA cards can optionally use the system memory in addition to their dedicated video RAM. The revealed Asus’ “Santa Rosa” laptop models also boast wireless N (IEEE 802.11n draft) connectivity, while one of them, the Asus A7S, has HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) output. In addition, the Asus A7S comes with 17-inch widescreen display, while the Asus F3SV and Asus F3SC have 15.4-inch WXGA screens. The Asus A8SC and Asus W7S are using 14.1 and 13,3-inch widescreen displays. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing and availability for these systems.
