AU KDDI and Sharp will release a spanking new cell phone in Japan that will come with a solar panel embedded in its lid, allowing you to recharge your handset wherever you go as long as there is sufficient sunlight. The phone can be recharged rapidly. A 10 minute charge under direct sunlight is perfect for one minute of talktime or two hours of standby time. The phone will be released in June, so it is perfect for use during summer season. [KDDI via Upcoming Cell Phones]
