Canada’s Axiom has recently released a new high-end desktop speaker sets called the Audiobyte, which they claim is the first “luxury hi-fi” multimedia speaker set. The Axiom Audiobyte speaker system consists of a pair of mini-monitors with 3 inch aluminum cone woofers and 1 inch titanium dome tweeters, powered by an external amplifier with 55 watts per channel. The enclosures are sealed limiting bass response to 100Hz, making the optional EPZero isobaric subwoofer with its twin 6.5 inch woofers and response down to 35Hz a very good idea. Available in black, white, silver and charcoal standard finishes, the speaker system retails for $349, while the EPZero subwoofer is priced at $179.
