British Telecom Develops Motion-Sensitive Notebook

British Telecom (BT) develops a BT Balance System technology, which eliminates the need for a mouse or keyboard on notebooks when performing some tasks. The Balance System utilizes a motion sensitive chip and a special software that enables users to turn pages of electronic books and documents with a simple flip of the monitor. This technology is similar to the motion-sensing used in the Nintendo Wii. In the future, the BT Balance system will help people with disabilities or the elderly, for whom using a keyboard or mouse can be difficult.
