Buffalo Japan has unveiled two new 12x Blu-ray writers for the mass market in the form of the internal BR3D-12FBS-BK and external, USB 3.0-equipped BR3D-12U3. Both of these drives provides write speeds of 12x for BD-R SL/DL, 2x for BD-RE SL/DL, 16x for DVD-R/+R, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL & DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM, 40x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW. In addition, they also come bundled with CyberLink’s Blu-ray Disc Suite. The Buffalo BR3D-12FBS-BK and BR3D-12U3 will become available in mid-June for about $316 and $433, respectively. [CDRLabs]
