CalDigit has started shipping the AV Drive for Mac, which is actually the company’s first single drive solution for audio and video purposes. The CalDigit AV Drive is also known as the first USB 3.0 drive for the Mac, allowing you to enjoy super speeds of up to 145 MB/s. The device provides a dual interface drive that supports FireWire 800, which is optimized to run up to 30% faster compared to other FireWire 800 drives. The CalDigit AV Drive is priced at $199 for the 1TB model, while the CalDigit SuperSpeed PCI Express Card retails for $59 a pop. [Ubergizmo]
