Cisco Announced iPhone Branded VoIP Phones

As we promised over the weekend here’s the promising details of “the iPhone”. It turns out Apple doesn’t have anything to do with it. It’s a VoIP phone from Linksys (now division of Cisco) which they are cutely branding “the iPhone”.

You can expect to see this $180 iPhone Dual-Mode Internet Telephony Kit for Skype CIT400 soon. And from what we can tell, it’s merely an advanced Skype handset. Linksys also announced the $200 iPhone Wireless-G Phone for Skype WIP320 (picture after the jump), which is a SIP VoIP phone. Nice try Linksys, but thanks – we are going to wait for the real thing.
