
The 47-inch 47LG90 will be available in September. This model is LG’s first attempt at LED backlighting for HDTVs, hence it will only be available in one size selection. Currently standard LCDs uses compact fluorescent backlights. LG uses this intricate new design for local dimming that turns off the LED individually to deliver deeper black levels and claims 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The LED-backlit 47LG90 promises deeper blacks and brighter whites. 47LG90 is Priced at $3,599. [LG-Canada]
