TechFaith Wireless Releases Twins Phone

TechFaith Wireless from China has rolled out the “first WCDMA/GSM dual mode phone” in the world. Dubbed as the Twins phone, the handset lets users to use one WCDMA card and one GSM card or to load dual GSM SIM cards. The phone also provides a 2MP shooter, a 2.8 inch touch sensitive TFT LCD display, 256MB RAM, 64MB ROM, integrated MP3 and MPEG4 playback, a WCDMA modem, Bluetooth connectivity and video call support. The Twin phone is available in two versions; the “Dragonfly” and “OMAP”, with the latter having a faster CPU and tri-band network support instead of quad-band. No word on pricing or availability so far.
