The new generation of AMD Opterons features the Direct Connect Architecture and HyperTransport technology which make it the industry’s first architecture that delivers x86-based 32-bit and 64-bit computing while reducing front-side bus bottlenecks and offers unprecedented core consistency and stability. The new Opterons are equipped with PowerNow! capabilities and DDR2 memory support to bring users a new performance-per-watt standard.
