Grand Theft Auto IV Delayed To 2008

Take Two has recently announced that they were delaying the release date of Grand Theft Auto IV to their second quarter release schedule, which starts February 1st, 2008. Published by Take-Two subsidiary Rockstar Games, this crime-action game had been slated to ship for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America on October 16, 2007. The delay will inflame the rumors about the difficulty of fitting the game to the 360 standard DVD9 format vs the Sony PlayStation 3’s larger BluRay Drive.

“Certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected, especially given the commitment for a simultaneous release on two very different platforms,” said Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick in a statement.
