Wii Launches Smoothly

The Wii launch has gone smooth in comparison to the recent PS3 launch. During the Wii launch, there were no police, no people being trampled, and no one running into a pole in a rush to get their console. Guys from Nintendo are clever enough to allow everyone into their launch festivities, and provide demo stands that set up on the sidewalk, to stop fan’s boredom.

At the Toys “R” Us in Times Square, the first Wii buyer Isaiah “Triforce” Johnson (pictured), was apparently wearing the old Nintendo Power Glove when he was greeted by Reggie Fils-Aime, who presented him with his signed console, as well as playing some Wii sports with some of the people in the crowd.

Overall, the launch appeared to be a big success for Nintendo, with plenty of units on hand for those who waited throughout the launch event. For those who did not have one of the necessary wristbands to buy a console, Nintendo promised that there would still be plenty of additional consoles available today.
