Splinter Wooden Supercar

Designer Joe Harmon and a U.S. design company has come out with the world’s first wooden supercar called Splinter with a speed of 240 mph. The car is a two-seater and made from maple, plywood and MDF. It’s powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine with a six-speed gearbox. Looks like you’ll be seeing the Splinter as well as several on your arms and legs sometime later this year. Just don’t let Splinter get frisky with any trees and you should be fine. [FarEast]

Is this for real? Kinda neat. I’d imagine you’d have to go to a carpenter for crash repairs.

Is this thing flammable? Does it warp when it gets wet?
