HP has recently unveiled its latest line of xw9400 Workstations, which are powered by AMD’s six-core Opteron 2400 series. Dubbed as Istanbul, these processors are capable of offering the system up to a dozen cores and are also claimed to provide around 34% more performance per watt when compared to earlier quad-cores. The Opteron 2400 processors will have speeds that range from 2.2GHz to 2.6GHz. The HP XW9400 Workstations also features the high-end AMD’s FirePro V7750 workstation-class graphics card.
