I-O Data is back by bringing you their latest portable DVD write called the DVRP-U8E. Measuring just 20mm thick, this slim portable drive features a USB 2.0 interface and provides write speeds of up to 8x for DVD+/-R, 6x for DVD+/-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM and 24x for CD-R/RW. Active Media Products today rolled out a new series of eSATA (external SATA) Flash drives. Synology has begun shipping their latest Network Attached Storage (NAS) device for the mass market. Dubbed as the DiskStation DS410, the device is equipped with a 1.6GHz processor, a 512MB of RAM, a built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption, Gigabit Ethernet, an eSATA port, two USB 2.0 ports and can accommodate up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, or four 2.5-inch SSD for a maximum of 8TB of storage space. In terms of performance, it delivers an average of 115MB/s reading speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment, and 54MB/s writing. The display has an HDMI/D-Sub input and supports Microsoft Windows 7 OS. The IDTI 21.5-inch Full HD touchscreen display is priced at just $300 a pop.
