Hi! just in case someone can help me.
I have 2 ESP 7, one is the earlier model, the other is the 7250. I have had again the "paper jam" problem on the 7 but since I know how to fix it by pushing in the little head cleaner (thanks Chad), I came out ok. I also got a stuck printhead on the 7250 and do not know what to do. The head is stuck on the left and will not slide on its rail to clear whatever blockage there may be. Can anybody help me?
Thanks a lot

To Steve who is going to upgrade to an HP or Canon. That's what we did after the Kodak ESP-9 nightmare. My husband went out and bought an HP and we've had NO problems with it after having it for almost a year now. NEVER EVER will I buy another Kodak product!!!

Chad, (posted on April 18, 2009) thank you for posting how you fixed your paper jam on your ESP, by pushing the cleaner pad back in place on the left hand side of your printer. I had chatted with tech support all day and they only told me the 3527 error code paper carriage jam message meant I had to replace my almost new Kodak printer. They said that since it was a little over a year old, they could only offer me a 30% discount on a replacement. I didn't want a new printer. I called to get my almost new printer fixed. Your solution worked, and I bet Kodak knows about this solution and chooses not to help their customers. They just want to up-sell you another printer...how greedy! Thank you very, very much, it's nice people like you who still care about others, that makes this world a better place!!!

bought ESP 9 to save money on ink...what a bad decision. I have had nothing but problems and Kodak has shipped me 2 replacements about 6 months apart. I then had to purchase a print head because of unrelated print quality issues, and now the latest error code 6202, Kodak says I need to "upgrade" to a new printer...are they kidding? I am going to "upgrade" to HP or Canon is what I'm going to do. so long Kodak

Graham
Try sliding the tray ( try both the A4 & photo tray ) in and out fully a few times but, forcebly !

Mine does it frequently, I also find a little persuasion from my steel toe caps always fixes this.

I've had just about every problem listed. Ink doesn't last very long, can't update, won't print plain words but will make photos, can't scan ever, have to unplug when it decides to lock up, More problems with ESP -7 than all the printers in my lifetime. I'm junking it today. I may buy Kodak paper if there is nothing else available.

Just tried the plain paper setting, no change.I guess I'll just use this
printer for photos as it works very well for that purpose.

I had this problem once, & when I checked the print properties I was on `Auto detect Paper ` i changed it to `Plain Paper` & it solved it.

Then again, another time I had the same problem when printing in colour, that turned out to be the print head, after the headache of talking to Kodak support they sent a new head F.O.C. that fixed it.

Have a ESP-7. Prints black very poorly, fading to almost nothing on regular paper. If I put in a sheet of photo paper it prints perfectly! Printing pictures on photo paper is no problem, but regular paper is very poor.
Any ideas on what is happening? Head cleaning does not solve the problem.

Its to bad....think Kodak would want to "Save" loosing sooooooo many costumers, but they would rather turn their heads and act like this didn't happen. Its been well over a year i threw my doorstopper away and got an HP 6300 wireless printer. i can go months with out printing as its sits idle... and it works perfect the moment i need it. I'm not pushing HP, i just of had good luck with them. I keep reading this site , shakin my head that kodak won't do anything to people who bought this crappy printer. I even gave them (Kodak) my address thinkin they would replace mine in good faith.... NOPE ! Ohh well... just hope people can see ALL this people getting burnd by kodak BEFORE they buy one !!
Have a great new year !

My Kodak ESP 9 SUCKS! Trying to prink some pictures of my kids with brand new ink tanks and I get "PINK" pictures. Not happy. Just want to print and go. So much for supporting my hometown company and husband's previous employer. Now to search for another printer and add this one to the landfill since Kodak will tell me that it is out of the warranty.
