LaCie has rolled out its new portable DVD writer which is targeted towards netbook users. Measuring only 157.5mm x 137mm x 25mm and weighing just 305 grams, this Sam Hecht-designed drive provides maximum write speeds of 8x for DVD±R and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD±R DL and DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM and 24x for CD-R/-RW. Not to mention, the drive also comes with a USB connection interface and supports for LightScribe technology. The LaCie DVD Writer is available in PC and Mac versions for $90 and $120, respectively.
