Toshiba today announced the availability of the Satellite A500 laptop that comes equipped with a wide HD LCD display. The multimedia notebook PC comes with a 16-inch HD Toshiba TruBrite display with 16:9 aspect ratio that offers a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a 200 cd/m² brightness level. The high-end laptop also features a built-in TV-Tuner to receive analogue and digital TV channels over DVB-T, an HD webcam, and high-end Harman Kardon stereo speakers. What makes the Satellite A500 more special is that it can be operated with a remote control thanks to the REGZA-Link, a HDMI CEC(High-Definition Multimedia Interface Consumer Electronics Control) interface. The Satellite A500 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU or an AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core CPU, up to 8 GB DDR memory, up to 500GB HDD, and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD GPUs with up to 1GB DDR3 VRAM. In addition, the laptop can be configured with a 64GB SSD drive (Solid State Drive). The Toshiba Satellite A500 is now available for $1,522 upwards, depending on the specs that you choose. I heard a lot of great things about this laptop. I plan on getting one later today, I hope it lives up to the hype. And FYI I planned on getting a Toshiba laptop before I saw that cute girl hold one lol.
