Lite-On has rolled out its latest external DVD writer ‘eHAU424′ for the mass market. Measuring 168mm x 57.5mm x 197.71mm and weighing just 1.1kg, this new portable drive makes use of both the LightScribe (disc labeling) and SmartErase (data erase) technologies. Apart from that, the drive also features a USB 2.0 connection interface, a 2MB of buffer memory and provides write speeds of up to 24x for DVD+R/-R, 12x for DVD-RAM and DVD+R/-R DL, 8x for DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW.
