More Secure Portable Hard Drives From Western Digital

Western Digital today introduced its smaller, smarter and more secure My Passport Essential and My Passport for Mac ultra-portable external hard drives featuring the company’s new WD SmartWare software and equipped with hardware-based encryption. These hard drives provides user-selected password protection combined with military-grade 256-bit hardware encryption, which scrambles files before they are stored. The WD My Passport Essential is available in 320GB, 500GB and 640GB, while the WD My Passport for Mac is offered in capacities of 320GB and 50GB.
