Nokia announced the Nokia 6290, its latest 3G cell phone based on the S60 3rd Edition (Symbian) platform. Touted as a mid-range 3G phone, the phone features a 2.2 inch QVGA color screen capable of displaying 16 million colors, a 2MP camera with 4X digital zoom and MP3 player. The bundled email client comes with an attachment viewer that can handle PPT, PDF, Word and Excel documents. This smartphone also allows you to set up multiple alarms and an interactive world travel application. And there is one more thing that you should know. Using this handset, you can also enjoy 2-way video calling on the phone via the internet.
Nokia claims the 6290’s battery has a talk time of 3.5 hours and standby time of 10 days. The handset will start shipping in Q1 2007 for an estimated price of US$427.
