Onkyo today introduced the TX-NR616 THX-certified 7.2-Channel network receiver. It is known as the world’s first to include InstaPrevue that offers on-screen video thumbnails to display the content currently available on HDMI-connected components. The new 7.2-Channel network receiver features Marvell’s on-board Qdeo processing technology that scales video up to 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) when used with a compatible 4K display and output audio on 7.2 channels. The Onkyo TX-NR616 has the front-panel USB port that provides a direct digital connection of Apple’s iPod touch, iPhone, or flash-memory device. There is also an additional USB port on the rear panel. The Onkyo TX-NR616 THX-certified 7.2-Channel network receiver will be available in April 2012 for $699. [Engadget]
