Here is the Peugeot 607 Feline concept that features some “retro-innovations include doors that slide into the front fenders, much like the Kaiser Darrin, and direction seeking headlights, much like the Tucker Torpedo.” For your info, this carbon fiber concept was introduced at Geneva in 2000. Looking at this car and seeing the shapes, along with comparing the features to some of the most unique designs in automotive history leads me to one thing. This is NOT a Kaiser Darrin, Tucker Torpedo, Audi TT, Dodge Viper, BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche… Yet the car has shapes and design queues taken from each and every one…. Heck… It looks like something that Matchbox might have come up with.
All together, these queues just don’t work together. Shame on Puegeot for trying this and taking others ideas… I expect more from them. Throw this concept in the trash and start over with something NEW… something BOLD, and something that will make the world recognize what the company really is. One last note. Leave the Darrin doors to the Darrin and the Tucker “turning” headlights to Tucker… There are better ways to “re-aim” the headlights than turning them.
