Philips has rolled out its new LCD display with a built-in infrared presence sensor. Known as the Philips Brilliance, the LCD monitor adopts “PowerSensor” technology, which can detect whether you’re sat in front of it or not and adjust brightness accordingly. If you get up from your chair and move away from the monitor, the brightness will immediately dim to reduce power consumption by 50%. You can also configure the sensor’s sensitivity The sensor is able to detect between 30cm and 120cm from the screen. If you are interested, you can purchase the Philips Brilliance when it is released in July for around $284. [Pocket-lint]
