PlayStation 2 games are coming to PS4

by Kevin on April 5, 2016

It’s something what many hardcore gamers wanted but it initially was denied by Sony, but later the company decided to bring some fascinating titles of PS2 to PS4.

Via email to Wired they disclosed : “We’re working on consuming PS2 emulation technology to make PS2 games  playable on PS4. We have nothing further to comment at this point.” It’s unsettled, then, what form the emulation will acquire. Will these epic titles be up for digital download or be released with fully functioning emulator so players can still utilize their old disc for PS4.

PlayStation’s backward compatibility became reality after Sony released a new Star Wars-themed PS4 bundle comprising of four classic games for download: Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars: Racer Revenge and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, last three are PS2 titles. Digital Foundry, gaming site, ran benchmarks of these on PS4 and observed ameliorated frame rates, even 60fps.

With the rise of retro games like online bingo (check for popular bingo sites) becoming more popular, we take a look at some of the PS2 games we’d like to see on PS4:

Burnout 3: Takedown

Criterion’s turbulent urban racing series reached its acme with this third instalment. As well as being encouraged to drive recklessly to earn style points, players enjoy destroying opponents’ cars by smashing them into stuff.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

We can go with some other epic titles like Manhunt and San Andreas but the likes of Vice City are unmatched with its extravagant, brutal and sleazy combination of Scarface and Miami Vice, make it most desirable of the old school GTA series.

Killer 7

Launched a decade back by Capcom. Game has a group of elite assassins named Killer7 , with game play in replicated Earth of early 21st century.

Onimusha: Warlords

Another deserving Capcom title with storyline of Japanese history. This is an exuberant  magic, exploration and orderly modeled samurai combat. Having gameplay offering puzzles to solve make it one step closer to Resident Evil game plot.

Pro Evolution Soccer 4

Out of many this one’s opted mainly because of its diversity in gameplay and animations. What a football addict loves to do with ball in his foot?, slick pass, skills and some adroit shots for goals, this game offers this all.

Silent Hill 2

Twisted and demonic Silent Hill series need no praise. Game where hero’s wracked with psychosexual guilt, a town brimming with murderous mannequins and a foe that looks like he’s just came out of the darkest fetish party. It is a torment. Yet, for a game of resolute creepiness, offers witty alternate ending ever conceived.

Simpsons: Hit & Run

A disappointing series but this one is considerable, a parody of GTA, conceived by the show’s author and voiced by appropriate cast. Gamers experience open world gameplay with absurd missions.

Timesplitters 2

It’s inconceivable how a game of early 2000 can be so much of an adroit development. Undoubtedly among the best shooting titles developed. What makes it exceptional is map editor, epic customization and loads of gaming modes to enjoy.
