Plextor is pleased to introduce their newest line of USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C portable SSDs, the EX1. Coming in three different storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, these ultra-compact portable SSDs (shock & vibration proof) are built with Hynix 16nm TLC NAND Flash memory chips, a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connection interface (w/ a Type-C to Type-A USB adapter included), TRIM support, SMART support, NCQ support and an MTBF of 1.5 million hours.
In terms of performance, the EX1 portable SSDs promise to deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 500MB/s, respectively. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Product Page]
