Wireless charging has been a term that has been floating about the tech world for some time now, and although it still isn’t where we want it to be, the technology is improving. Gadgets like the Powermat Wireless Charging Solutions are on the fast track to revolutionize the industry and the results are pretty exciting. It uses an induction coil on a base station that is plugged into the wall to create an alternating electromagnetic field. Another induction coil converts that electromagnetic field back into an electrical current which charges the battery. It only works over a very short distance for right now, but this is surely a step in the right direction. [OhGizmo]
