Pure has announced the Sensia, which is touted as the world’s first high resolution DAB digital and Internet-connected radio with a large 5.7 inch 640 x 480 high resolution colour touchscreen, giving you a unique way to enjoy internet radio content and podcasts, DAB and FM radio stations, your own music collection via Wi-Fi, online apps and unique broadcast material. The Sensia is also a media streamer enabling users to listen to music stored on a home computer or network storage device via Wi-Fi. Media streaming requires UPnP server or Mac or PC running UPnP server software, which Pure says is supplied upon registration to www.thelounge.com, Pure’s own radio and media portal. Other specs include two 3-inch full-range drivers, an RF remote, an optional rechargeable battery, and 802.11b and 802.11g WiFi with WEP and WPA/WPA2 encryption. Audio codecs supported include WMA, WAV, AAC, MP3, MP2, and Real Audio. The Pure Sensia will be available later this year for £249.99 ($406). [Pure]
