PureSilicon has upgraded its Renegade R2 SSD series by releasing a new 256GB version. The drive boasts 255MB/sec sequential read rates and 180MB/sec sequential write rates and supports MIL-STD-810F standards allowing the drive to tolerate extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration. This rugged 256GB SSD drive will start shipping in Q1 2010 alongside the encrypted versions. FYI, the PureSilicon 256GB SSD Drive is also available in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage capacities. [HotHardware]
