Review: Sony VGN-AR11S

Sony’s VGN-AR11S
is a 17-inch laptop that features an Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.0GHz) processor, 1GB of memory, 2 x 100GB SATA HDDs, a Blu-ray drive, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600GT graphics, and a built-in webcam. On the outside there are three USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port, 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi, 4-in-1 memory card reader, and an HDMI port.The VGN-AR11s measures at 416 x 300 x 34mm and weighs 8.3-pounds.

What you’ve actually got here is a superb Media Center PC, with all the components to allow it to be the centre of your high-definition entertainment setup. Yes it’s pretty expensive, but you really are getting not just cutting edge, but potentially future proof technology here - once Blu-ray movies start to appear, the AR11S will add another very impressive string to its bow.
