Check out this rather unique home security device, the Rovio Wi-Fi Robot. The Rovio Wi-Fi Robot is a great idea as a security measure when you’re away on holiday. This ingenious piece of gadgetry streams video and audio through a built-in camera, and can be controlled from anywhere. Use Rovio to check in on your family while away from home, watch over your house while away on vacation, or look over your pets during your lunchtime. You can use any web accessible device such as a mobile phone, gaming console or PC to control it, but for the more traditional of us it does also come with its own remote control. Available around Mid September 2008, with a suggested retail price of $299. [Red5]

Its very good product. Can you tell me, how can I install new application in it without getting into complexity. I am curious about it and want to have a new feature in it. Please help me if you can. I want that whenever I start watching my home it should tell other members that “Name” is watching you. So this can be done with the help of some kind of programming so that whenever it has a connection with someone or from some ip address. It should tell something through audio.
Thanks in advance,
vinay kumar.
Tomorrow never comes.
I think the above post is hinting at what I want to know as well. Is there any encryption or are people going to be able to hack or access it easily. I piggyback my neighbors wifi all the time, so the idea of putting a rovable camera in my house that could just as easily be controlled by some stranger as it could by me is quite disturbing.
