Planar Systems has introduced a new 42-inch flat panel LCD display which is designed for outdoor enjoyment. Known as the Runco WP-42HD, the screen features “glass with special element-proof bonding†a sealed custom aluminum cabinet and an internal ventilation system to provide cooling. This LCD TV also offers “protection from adverse environmental conditions including temperature, exposure to moisture, dust, oils and intermittent direct water spray.†The Runco WP-42HD offers 1366 x 768 resolution and special internal video processing chip. Other features include 1080i support, a 178-degree viewing angle, and DVI with HDCP and computer/RGB inputs. This television will be available in November for around $8,995.
