Sharp has developed the smallest blue laser for Blu-ray and HD DVD players. The GH04020A4G measures at only 3.3-mm in diameter. This semiconductor’s sample retails for $99 starting June 13th 2007. The mass production will start later in July. This blue laser requires 10mW of power and has a life of 10,000 hours.
