It seems that Sony is serious in the Blu-ray burner business. The company has recently unveiled the third generation internal Blu-ray disc writer that is priced at approx. $400. The BWU-300S offers 8x recording speed so it can burn a 25GB disc only in 15 minutes using 6x compatible BD-R media. The burner is also backward compatible with DVDs at 16x, and CDs at 48x. Cyberlink Power2Go, the data burning software bundled with the BWU-300S, fails to install. Tried on two different systems (Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP SP3). Same error. Hopefully I’ll be able to find another application to burn data…
