Sony Hits Back With A New Professional Camcorder

Sony has once again expanded its line of professional camcorders by announcing the NXCAM HXR-NX100. As part of the NXCAM series, this high-performance camcorder boasts a 20MP 1.0-type Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor, a fixed Sony G lens offering 12x optical zoom (from 29mm angle of view at wide end that can be increased to 24x with Clear Image Zoom), a built-in 4-step ND filter, a 0.24″ type 1550K-dot EVF and a 3.5″ type 1550K-dot LCD monitor.

Other notable features include manual lens rings to ensure intuitive control of zoom, focus and iris, dual media slots for recording flexibility and a wide variety of professional interfaces (HDMI, Multi/Micro USB, XLR terminals, REMOTE, Composite (BNC) and Multi Interface (MI) Shoe). Finally, the NXCAM HXR-NX100 can record 1080p Full HD video in XAVC S 50Mbps format.
